This volunteer opportunity will help to support court users in South East Queensland making their day in court as stress-free as possible.
As a valued member of the court team, you will assist with the smooth operation of the court and provide appropriate support to court users and staff.
This role is currently working in Brisbane and looking to expand in other locations. If you are interested in this role please make an application.

✅ What you’ll be doing:

Working as part of a supportive court team
-
Able to make the commitment of a minimum of 3-4 hours (mornings only on a weekly/fortnightly basis) as rostered.

Welcoming court users with a warm smile and compassion.

Assisting court users with enquiries
-
Clarifying needs and directing or accompanying users to required support
-
Explaining court processes
-
Providing external supports and service referrals
-
You will work closely with court staff, following their directions as required, and provide a reassuring presence for court users.
You will assist individuals experiencing situations, such as:

Language challenges with limited or no English
-
Uncertainty about legal representation
-
Mental Health Concerns
-
Addiction
-
Homelessness
-
Emotionally driven
