English Tutor for Refugee/ESL students
Advertised by Volunteering QueenslandThe Yeronga State High School English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) Program supports the English language development of students who have come from language backgrounds other than English.
Our 'English as an Additional Language or Dialect' Unit requires volunteers to provide support in classroom on a one-on-one basis. Classes include Essential English & EAL/D English. Volunteer characteristics: Patience, empathy, ability to encourage and support young people.
Skills gained: Interpersonal development, communication, assisting others, following and giving simple directions while improving your tutoring skills. Enjoyment of working in a supportive educational and multicultural environment.
