Kitchen Supervisor

We are a Village Hub for older people in Victoria Park. We value the knowledge, skills and experience of older members of our community. Our organisation is lead by the members with many stepping up to lead groups and assist with the running of the Community Centre.

We are looking for a skilled kitchen operator to plan a weekly lunch menu, shop and lead our experienced kitchen team of volunteers to prepare a delicious and healthy 2 course commmunity lunch for approximtely 20 older people each Tuesday.

You will be cooking in our commercial kitchen and providing one meal a week to some of our older and more frail tennants along with members of our community.

We value using higher quality ingredients that are sustainably sourced and farmed ethically.

You will also lead our team to cater for larger celebration events (approximately 3 times a year), for our members for example Christmas, Melbourne Cup.

You will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of older people, both in providing them with a nutricious meal but als through social connection.

Ideally you will have a kitchen safe food handling certificate, or be prepared to get one. We are happy to support you in this process
