BETTER Timor is looking for multiple passionate volunteer Year 3 Curriculum Writers to join our Education Team! By dedicating a few hours a week, you’ll play a vital role in crafting the curriculum to be used by our Year 3 teaching team. Your expertise will empower teachers and enrich the educational experience in East Timor. As a volunteer with BETTER, you will be a valuable resource for teachers in East Timor, providing support and guidance in curriculum development, assessment and monitoring.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience as a primary school teacher with expertise in interpreting curriculum documents.
  • Familiarity with curriculum terminology.
  • Ability to write succinctly and clearly for our audience.
  • Access to a computer and stable internet connection, with proficiency in virtual communication tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Year 3 Curriculum across various subjects. Incorporate key elements of the Timorese Curriculum, as well as adding depth and breadth by referencing the Australian Curriculum.
  • Create teaching goals and strategies to support teachers to interpret the curriculum.
  • Write student milestones to help monitor progress.
  • Identify key vocabulary (in English) that will help teachers understand the curriculum and students to access the learning in each area.

Time Commitment: We understand that availability varies, but we kindly request a commitment of about 1-3 hours per week, which can be scheduled at your convenience.
