If you have a passion for fitness and enjoy helping others stay active, this is the volunteering role for you. Volunteer hours are available on Tuesday and Wednesday between 9am and 1pm.

These activities assist residents with socialising, promoting a sense of well-being and encouraging community connectedness. Most importantly they bring joy and create smiles!

The Activity Assistant Volunteer can help residents by:

  • Engaging and connecting with residents.
  • Accompanying residents to and from group activities.
  • Directing residents in group walking and workout activities.
  • Assisting the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator.
  • Communicating resident feedback to staff to assist in improving both the activity and resident enjoyment.

This role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner when engaging with residents. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.

This program is located within the Anam Cara Aged Care Community where the residents enjoy a wonderful sense of life, fun, and friendship.

Anam Cara is a welcoming and rewarding place to volunteer where you will meet many wonderful people and learn great new skills that may assist you both personally and professionally. There are lots of other benefits to volunteering with us as well, such as:

  • Great education opportunities
  • Access to online and face-to-face wellness advisors
  • Invitations to social events
  • Being part of a team that really is making a difference in the lives of seniors in our Aged Care Communities.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before they are registered in their role.
