What You'll Be Doing
As a Social Companion, you will visit our residents to engage in one-to-one conversations, support them engage in unstructured recreational activities and support the resident's participation in group activities. This is such a valued role, particularly for residents who may not have friends or family close by and who may be reluctant to join in group activities. Having the opportunity to reminisce alongside others also provides a significant boost to residents' sense of social connectedness.
Why This Matters
Many older people experience periods of loneliness, reduced mobility, or limited social networks. A regular visit from a caring volunteer can make a profound difference.
