Support Committee Member - Victor Harbor Sea Scouts

Victor Harbor Sea Scout group is a family focused Scout Group with programs full of fun, friendship, new skills and adventure. Today's Scouts can take part in an extraordinary variety of outdoor activities, from traditional scouting skills such as camping, bush craft, through to more extreme challenges such as abseiling, overnight hikes, canoeing, rock climbing, and even flying.

Our Group is also very active within the local community and is working hard to foster working partnership which will result in a number of long term improvements for both local community and local environment.

We are a small but successful Scout Group. Established in 1910 we have a long and interesting history.

These are all of the positions we must fill within our Support Committee: • Chairperson and Vice Chairperson • Treasurer and Vice Treasurer • Secretary and Vice Secretary • Maintenance • Quartermaster • Grants and Fundraising • Media Officer • General Committee Member

All applicants are welcome to apply and we can work within your skillset to find you a suitable position. Many of the people who join our Committee come with no experience at all. We can guide you accordingly. You are welcome to attend a Committee Meeting to see what we are all about before you decide to commit to a position.

You can assist as little or as much as you like. In addition to attending the Committee Meetings, here are some examples that our Committee attend to on a regular basis: Organising a plumber if we are having any water issues & meeting them onsite Organising an electrician if we are having any electrical issues & meeting them onsite Organising annual test & tag requirements and fire safety audits Putting the wheelie bins in/out each week Preparing a BBQ dinner and salads for a special occasion evening Purchasing/ordering items as requested and approved

If you would prefer a role more involved with the Youth that a Committee Member can offer, you may be better suited to a Leader or Program Support position.
