Chatty Volunteer for friendly visits to Elderly Residents in Surrey Hills(VIC)

MiCare are looking for volunteers that can share a smile and companionship during weekly friendly visits to isolated and lonely elderly people in Victoria.
We have lovely residents living in Aged Care (Surrey Hills area) who is looking for someone to visit them on a regular basis. Do a hobby with them, take them for a walk around the facility or nearby parks and enjoy a good conversation over a coffee.
Volunteering brings fun and fulfilment to your life and makes a huge difference to those in the community seeking companionship.
Visits may be spent talking or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. Your regular visits can make a real and positive difference in the life of these residents.
We ask volunteers to commit to weekly visits for at least 6 months, however this is an ongoing role and we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible.
Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support, travel reimbursement and invitations to meetings together with other visiting volunteers.
This program is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) - an Australian Government initiative.
