Volunteer at our Social Support Centre in Geelong

If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you!
This volunteer role offers: • An opportunity to gain experience in the aged care sector • Supervision and opportunities for learning and development • The chance to be a part of a volunteer community
We're looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting our centre-based program in Geelong. The program offers participants the opportunity to engage in a range of social activities which supports them in staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.
A typical day at the centre may involve facilitating a game of scrabble, working on a puzzle together, engaging in arts and craft lessons, and then getting everyone around the table for a shared lunch. There will also be opportunities to get the group out for lovely walks or going for a drive in the bus to local museums, movies etc.
This role will provide you with an opportunity to develop your group skills, learn something new every day and have fun while doing so! You will leave each day feeling fulfilled knowing you have made a meaningful contribution to the lives of people in your community.
At Uniting AgeWell, our focus is on supporting older people to experience a sense of wellbeing, choice and independence in their lives. It is important our customers feel valued as members of their community and are supported to live the life they want.
This Centre operates Monday - Friday from 9.30am and finishes at 2.30pm. We can be flexible to accommodate your needs.
