Join the Wildlife Welfare Organisation Board: Make a Real Difference for Our Native Wildlife.

The Wildlife Welfare Organisation (WWO) is a registered charity run by volunteers dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating native wildlife, primarily on the Fleurieu Peninsula. WWO has been caring for wildlife for almost 40 years, generously supported by our community.

WWO offers a 24/7 wildlife rescue support service, and operates an animal ambulance and an accredited wildlife rescue centre based in Goolwa.

With increasing numbers of animals in need our work is more important than ever. We are looking to strengthen our leadership team with passionate and skilled individuals who can help us continue this critical work.

We are seeking volunteer board members who can bring their expertise and energy to WWO as we continue to grow and serve our wildlife, and our community.

Board positions are a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on our environment and help steer an organisation that has been integral to wildlife protection in South Australia. You will be collaborating with a small, group of likeminded individuals whose are dedicated to making a difference for our native wildlife.

What We’re Looking For:

WWO is looking for a skills-based board that can help govern and grow the organisation. We are particularly seeking individuals with experience in the following areas:

• Veterinary Care of Wildlife

• Human Resource and/or Volunteer Management

• Workplace Health and Safety

• Governance and Strategy

• Business or Retail management

• Accounting and Financial Management

• Operational Management

• Fundraising

• Communications, Media and Marketing

The current Chairperson, a longstanding volunteer of 24 years, will be retiring in October 2025.

If you have the skills and the passion to help lead a community-focused charity that truly makes a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

As a member of the board, you will work collaboratively with other volunteers, provide governance in line with our constitution, and contribute to fundraising and operational efforts and strategic guidance to ensure the sustainability of our services.

Your skills will help us continue our critical work rescuing and rehabilitating native wildlife, and ultimately, you’ll be contributing to a brighter future for Australia’s unique wildlife.
