Friends of Hillarys and Kallaroo Foreshore Reserve is a coastcare group working with the City of Joondalup towards the ecological restoration of our local coastal environment. We are looking for people who love the coast and are willing to help the group protect the amazing plants and animals within the area. We welcome people of all ages and abilities. Children need to be in the care of their parent or guardian. We meet on the last Sunday of the month close to one of the parking stations with bus services are available. An email is sent in the week prior to advise exact time and location. Volunteers are to wear sturdy, enclosed shoes, long pants, long sleeve shirt and wide brimmed hat to prevent scratches, insect bites and provide UV protection and to bring drinking water and gardening gloves. We are also keen to provide environmental education activities for children and adults. Involvement in these activities requires a Working With Children Card. Their may be some assistance with the costs of obtaining the card. Volunteering and working on the coast has many benefits for your physical and mental health, so send an expression of interest to find out more information.
