The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of BaptistCare.
The Orchards Aged Care Community in Doncaster East are looking for volunteers to help support our older residents in having wonderful, fulfilling days. As a Baptcare volunteer, you’ll receive full induction and support, ensuring a rewarding experience.
You’ll assist the Lifestyle Team with activities like:
- Games and puzzles
- Coffee Club
- Dining with friends
- Exercise and walking groups
- Bingo
- Entertainment
- Chatting (Companion Volunteer)
- Themed days (e.g., Melbourne Cup, holidays, cultural events)
We tailor the experience to match your passions and hobbies, ensuring your volunteer journey is both meaningful and enjoyable.
Your support helps create a more engaging, rewarding experience for our residents. For many, your friendship and involvement can make a significant difference in their lives, especially for those with little or no family. It’s an opportunity to brighten someone’s day and build lasting connections.
Is This You?
We welcome volunteers from all walks of life, over 18 students, retirees, part-time workers, stay-at-home parents, and professionals. To be considered for this role, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:
- You don’t need special skills, just a warm heart and the desire to make a difference
- Willingness to undergo or provide a National Criminal History Check
- Provide two referees (non-family) who can speak to your character
- Be reliable, compassionate, and enjoy spending time with elderly people
- Commitment to regular volunteering
