Each week, Hands and Feet provides food to over 900 people across Perth and Peel. Volunteering with us is deeply rewarding- you’ll be making a real difference in people’s lives. If you’re looking for purpose and enjoy helping others, this is the role for you.

The main duties: • Collecting food from supermarkets and other suppliers • Delivering food parcels to our partner churches • Loading and unloading trucks • Cleaning of the trucks

Training

How to load and unload the truck and sort food at the loading docks.

Time required

Hands and Feet operate Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm and employ drivers during these hours, however, we require additional drivers each day during peak operating times as follows: Mon – 2:30pm to 4:30pm Tues – 2:00pm to 4:00pm Wed –11:00am to 1:30pm Thurs – 8:00am to 1:30pm Fri -1:00pm to 2:30pm Volunteers can choose to work one or more of these shifts as suits their availability.

Reimbursement

Morning and afternoon tea is provided.

Requirements

Driver's Licence (C)
Driver's Licence (LR)

- Got a full C class license? Great. LR license? Even better. - Can follow procedures without a fuss? Perfect. - Safety first - no exceptions. - Team player who gets stuff done on time? You’re exactly who we want. - Must have experience driving a light truck. There is no specific age range, however volunteers need a reasonable level of fitness and must be able to lift 20kg and be able to climb up and down into and out of the truck cargo area when loading and unloading boxes of food.
