Bus Driver

We are seeking a responsible and safety-minded individual to serve as a Volunteer Bus Driver.

In this role, you will provide reliable transportation for the students at our school

Your service plays a vital role in supporting our mission and improving the quality of life for those in our care.

Key Responsibilities

• Able to operate larger than a 12-seater bus (25-seater) full-size bus in a safe, courteous, and lawful manner

• Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations on time

• Ensure the safety of all passengers during boarding, transport, and exiting

• Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle

• Perform basic vehicle inspections before and after each trip

• Report any maintenance needs or incidents to the supervisor promptly

• Maintain accurate trip records and passenger logs as needed

• Provide a welcoming and respectful environment for all riders

Requirements

• Valid QLD driver’s license (Medium Rigid)

• Clean driving record

• Previous driving experience (preferred but not required).

• Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with people of all ages and backgrounds.

• Must pass a background check

• A valid Blue Card (Y Queensland can assist with your application — it’s free for volunteers)

• Completion of Y Queensland Volunteer Mandatory Training modules
