Docent Volunteer at Caversham Wildlife Park
Advertised by City of Swan - Swan Volunteer Resource CentreLooking for an outdoor volunteer role where every day brings something different? Enjoy meeting new people and creating memorable experiences? Want the flexibility of volunteering without locked-in shifts?
If you’re passionate about wildlife and equally passionate about connecting with people, this could be the perfect role for you!
This position focuses on visitor engagement — welcoming guests, answering questions, and helping create positive and memorable experiences for visitors of all ages from across the globe.
Please note, this is not an animal husbandry role. Instead, think of it as a guest experience and customer engagement opportunity set within a fun, unique, and wildlife-focused environment.
Volunteers should feel comfortable chatting with visitors and interacting with small groups, however there is no formal public speaking required. We encourage everyone to work within their comfort zones while gradually building confidence and skills at their own pace.
Most importantly, you’ll become part of a supportive and close-knit volunteer community where friendships are formed, confidence grows, and like-minded people come together through a shared passion for wildlife and conservation.
