Youth Mentoring- West

Make a difference in a young person’s life – become a Volunteer Mentor
What’s involved?
We’ll carefully match you with a young person based on your interests and strengths. Together, you’ll catch up in the community for around 3 hours every fortnight. This might look like:
Visiting a local market or gallery Sharing a coffee and a chat • Helping them explore career or study options • Getting active – walking, sport, or a game of pool Your time and encouragement can help reduce disconnection, build life skills, and create a strong sense of belonging for the young person you’re matched with. We’ll provide full training and ongoing support in the role.
You might be a great fit if you:
- Are friendly, reliable and open-minded
- Enjoy spending time with young people and are curious to learn from them
- Can set healthy boundaries and offer guidance in a respectful way
- Have a flexible schedule and can commit to meeting every two weeks
- Are happy to travel a short distance to meet your mentee
- Hold a Victorian driver’s licence and are comfortable driving a young person (this is a bonus, not a must)
Why volunteer with Kids First? You’ll be joining a passionate team of people who are driven by values of empowerment, connection, inclusion and impact. Volunteering with us is a chance to:
- Make a real and lasting difference
- Build meaningful relationships
- Learn new skills and grow personally
- Be part of something bigger
No two mentoring journeys are the same, every connection has the potential to be life-changing.
