We are committed to offering a ‘hand up’ to people experiencing hardship through practical assistance, advocacy and compassion. Our network of Vinnies Shops is a vital part of our mission. The shops provide high-quality, affordable goods to the community, reduce landfill by reusing and recycling and generate essential funds to support our local programs — including homelessness services, food assistance and emergency relief. Every role in our shops, from sorting donations to serving customers, makes a real difference in people’s lives.
About the Role: As a linen sorting and pricing volunteer, you’ll play a hands-on role behind the scenes, helping us prepare donated linen and household textiles for resale. From fluffy towels to crisp bedsheets, your careful work ensures these items are clean, well-presented and ready to find a new home. Whether you’re a neat freak or the ultimate home stylist there’s a place for you at Vinnies.
Key Tasks:
- Check linen items for stains, tears or other damage.
- Fold and prepare items neatly for display.
- Price items using Vinnies guidelines.
- Help keep shelves tidy and well-organised.
Skills & Attributes:
- Careful handling of different fabrics and materials.
- Good eye for quality and presentation.
- Comfortable with light lifting and sorting tasks.
