Neighbourhood Link Volunteer

We’re looking for friendly, compassionate volunteers to support older adults on in our Neighbourhood Link social outings program. Minibus Support Volunteers assist the driver, helping ensure participants feel safe, supported and socially connected throughout the trip. Destinations can include - Southland, local shops, Bunnings, Chadstone, cafes, RSL's and libraries.
Your Role:
- Providing gentle support with mobility where needed.
- Assisting participants to get on/off the minibus - open and closing the door, folding down the step etc.
- Assisting participants with seatbelts when necessary.
- Encouraging conversation and fostering social connection.
- Acting as a visible, friendly and approachable point of contact.
- Supporting the driver with navigation if required.
- No manual handling or heavy lifting required.
Volunteers are welcome to stay and participate at the outing destination, or you may choose to head off and do your own thing during this time. Alternatively, one-way volunteer shifts are also available.
Time Commitment:
- Flexible - just a few hours a week can make a big impact!
