As a Ward Companion Volunteer, you'll experience the incredible reward of making a genuine difference in someone's day. Whether you're sharing a conversation, celebrating a birthday, helping a patient enjoy a favourite hobby or simply offering companionship to someone who has no visitors, your presence can reduce loneliness, lift spirits and bring comfort during a hospital stay. Along the way, you'll build meaningful connections, develop valuable communication and interpersonal skills, gain insight into the healthcare environment, and become part of a supportive volunteer community. Every smile you share, every activity you facilitate and every act of kindness helps create a more welcoming and compassionate hospital experience—for patients, families and yourself.
