Collection Drivers
*Drive to collection locations in Community SOS vehicle
*Sort through food and rescue all food suitable for human consumption leave rest for farmers to pick up for animals and compost
*Maintain a friendly relationship with suppliers and farmers
*Requires some heavy lifting (boxes up to 25kgs but mostly between 7-15kgs)
*Ensure all rescued food is weighed and recorded prior to being handed over to the food pantry volunteers. (Other volunteers will support as needed).
Each collection start to finish takes approx. 1- 2 hrs depending on size and location of pick-up and other factors such as congestion at loading docks etc. Collection times availability currently as follows:
*Sundays – 8.30 – 9.00am (helper welcome)
*Sundays – 12 noon (helper welcome)
Looking to build a team so we can schedule people on for 1 or 2 Sundays a month.
