About the Role
As a Birralee Blooms volunteer, you’ll help residents enjoy all things gardening — from potting and planting to creating colourful displays and seasonal decorations. No green thumb needed — just a warm heart and a willingness to connect.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting residents with gentle, hands-on gardening (planting, watering, weeding, composting)
- Getting creative with garden projects like painting pots or making signs
- Joining in on friendly garden gatherings with residents, families, and staff
- Encouraging residents to share their ideas, memories, and creativity
What We’re Looking For
- A friendly, patient nature and genuine interest in engaging with older residents
- A love of gardens, nature, or creativity (no experience needed)
- Reliability to attend fortnightly sessions
