Free the Forest! Weeding & Guard Removal in Athelstone, SA (Thurs July 30th)
Conservation Volunteers Australia
Within a month
CVA and Campbelltown City Council had a busy 2025 planting season at River Drive Reserve in Athelstone! We planted thousands of native seedlings which are now flourishing and growing out of their guards.
Join us to weed around our planting site and help with one of our favourite conservation tasks - setting our seedlings free from their guards! This will support our plants to grow to their full potential and create a beautiful urban forest.
What will I be doing on the day? All of our events begin with a safety induction and training from a CVA Team Leader.
As part of the day, you will work under the supervision of our friendly team to remove plant guards.
What skills or experience do I need? No prior experience is necessary! Our Team Leaders will provide volunteers with safety inductions and training in the activity.
Our events are suitable for most age groups (ages 10 - 85). Children aged 3-14 must be directly supervised by a parent or legal guardian.
A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
-
Once you send through your application via Seek, we will be in touch with registration details. Spaces are limited, and they do fill up!
-
No previous experience is required. We will provide you with all the know-how on site.
-
You need to make your own way to and from the project site.
-
We can provide you with a certificate of appreciation for coming along and helping out (this looks great on a resume!)
