NAIDOC Week Bushfoods Garden Planting - Barker Inlet Wetlands (Weds 8th July)
Conservation Volunteers Australia
Within a month
Join CVA, the Port Environment Centre and PAE Council as we celebrate NAIDOC week at Barker Inlet Wetlands on Kaurna Country! The day will start with a guided walk and talk with Bryce, a Kaurna and Ngarrindjeri man from Tarnda Experiences, who will share his knowledge of plants and their food and medicinal uses.
We'll then get our hands dirty and help plant over 150 native seedlings to create a beautiful bushfoods garden at the wetlands. Enjoy a delicious morning tea made from native bushfoods after your hard work!
What will I be doing on the day? All of our events begin with a safety induction and training from a CVA Team Leader.
As part of the day, you will work under the supervision of our friendly team leader to help with planting.
What skills or experience do I need? No prior experience is necessary! Our Team Leaders will provide volunteers with safety inductions and training in the activity.
All are welcome - our events are suitable for most age groups (ages 10 - 85). Children aged 3-14 must be directly supervised by a parent or legal guardian.
A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
-
Once you send through your application via Seek, we will be in touch with registration details. Spaces are limited, and they do fill up!
-
No previous experience is required. We will provide you with all the know-how on site.
-
You need to make your own way to and from the project site.
-
We can provide you with a certificate of appreciation for coming along and helping out (this looks great on a resume!)
