Laura lives independently with her partner in Reservoir. She has been anxious since having had a fall at home and now gets panicked when she is on her own. As a direct consequence of the fall, she has been getting out less and has lost contact with her friends. With your support and encouragement, Laura hopes to learn to be comfortable in being alone at home and being able to travel to places on her own. Once this is achieved, Laura’s goal is to make new friends in the community and be able to see them independently, whenever she wants company.
Laura has difficulty with problem solving and would benefit from mentorship with someone with life experience. Being available to take a phone call when Laura encounters a problem will be a major help in her life so that things run smoothly and calmly for her.
If you are supportive, empathetic and have some time to spend with Laura, it will make all the difference to her life. Time spent is flexible – it can be when you are both free – no minimum or set times are required – just your ongoing commitment to help her live her best life. Your reward in walking beside her will be to see her confidence grow.
