Seeking a compassionate and caring Community Visitor for a Dutch senior

Provide companionship during fortnightly friendly visits. Visits may be spent talking or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. Your regular visits can make a real positive difference in the life of this lady - reducing her isolation and improving wellbeing.

A volunteer who speaks Dutch or English would be perfect for this role.

We ask volunteers to commit to weekly/fortnightly visits for at least 6 months however, this is an ongoing role and we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible.

Volunteer duties may include:

• Minimising the social isolation experienced by an elderly person through the provision of companionship and support on a regular basis through weekly/fortnightly visits.
• Acting as a link between the elderly resident and their respective community. Encouraging the independence and self-esteem of the recipient.
• Increasing the recipient's participation in activities and facilitate interaction within the aged care facility or community when appropriate.
