Relay For Life: Entertainment Coordinator

The Entertainment Coordinator oversees the entertainment that takes place during Relay For Life. This includes sourcing talent, scheduling performances, and ensuring all technical needs are met to deliver a smooth and vibrant experience for Relay For Life participants over the course of the event. The role requires strong organisational skills, creativity and the ability to cultivate relationships and work with others.
Specific tasks include:
- Design and deliver a full entertainment schedule (covering roughly 12 hours of the event)
- Coordinate performance timing in collaboration with the Ceremonies and Kids Activities Coordinator
- Work with Cancer Council ACT and the Relay For Life Committee to regularly review benchmarks and progress
- Source and secure performers (e.g. bands, dancers, cultural acts, etc.) from the local community (confirming requirements and availability)
- Foster partnerships with the local community who are willing to contribute their services
- Collaborate with staging crew to arrange all necessary technology and mechanical set-up
Time commitment:
- Typically, a few hours each month, increasing to a few hours a week as the event date approaches
