Got a knack for tech and a heart for helping others? Wheller on the Park Retirement Community is seeking a volunteer to support residents with their everyday digital challenges. Volunteer your time to assist residents with their phones, tablets, computers, and more.

These activities assist residents with socialising, promoting a sense of well-being and encouraging community connectedness. Most importantly they bring joy and create smiles!

The Tech Guru Volunteer can help residents by:

  • Helping with phone set up and updates.
  • Tuning televisions.
  • Providing support for digital devices.
  • Bringing tech support to residents through calm and patient guidance.
  • Communicating resident feedback to staff to assist in improving both the activity and resident enjoyment.

This role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner when engaging with residents. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.

Volunteer hours available from Monday to Friday 9:00am – 4:00pm, based on your availability.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before they are registered in their role.

Volunteers will also be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance prior to commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
