Relay For Life: Volunteer Coordinator

As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the success of Relay For Life by leading the recruitment, engagement and management of volunteers. You'll serve as the key point of contact for all volunteers and will be responsible for ensuring they are supported, trained, and empowered to contribute meaningfully to the event.
This is a leadership role within the Relay For Life Committee and requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for community engagement. As part of the Relay For Life Committee, you will help foster a positive and inclusive volunteer culture. You will also lead the development and cultivation of relationships within the community whilst representing Cancer Council ACT and Relay For Life.
Specific tasks include:
- Work with Relay For Life Committee and Cancer Council ACT to create and execute development strategies to grow the participation and quality of Relay For Life
- Recruit volunteers, provide guidance and delegate tasks
- Work with Cancer Council ACT to ensure volunteers are provided with the necessary training and resources
- Communicate regularly with volunteers regarding event-specific updates and information
- Oversee the 'Welcome Marquee' and HQ area of Relay For Life
- Review benchmarks with the Relay For Life Committee and Cancer Council ACT to ensure goals are being achieved
Time Commitment:
- Typically, a few hours each month, increasing to a few hours a week as the event date approaches.
