Volunteer Visitor

MiCare is a multi-cultural organisation providing Aged Care services across Victoria. We are looking for volunteers to join us under the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS) which is funded by the Commonwealth government. For volunteers and clients alike – having a chat, in their first language, can make an enormous difference to their day. MiCare offers volunteer friendly visits to elders living in aged care facilities and to elders still living in their homes.

Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and are carefully selected, screened, and trained so they can be matched with the right clients who share their cultural heritage or interests.

MiCare employs a unique and highly successful model of recruiting, matching, training, and supporting volunteers.

The program sees volunteers visit regularly to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee, play games, share arts and crafts, or share culturally relevant activities.
