Volunteer Patient Transport Drivers
Advertised by Volunteering GeelongWe are currently looking for compassionate and reliable Volunteer Patient Drivers who have any availability across Monday - Friday to join our team and provide transport to:
- University Hospital Geelong
- Barwon Health North
- Barwon Health McKellar Centre
- Newcombe Community Health Centre
What you’ll be doing:
- Driving patients safely to and from appointments using Barwon Health fleet vehicles.
- Providing a friendly, supportive presence to help patients feel at ease.
- Utilising modern technology to access secure information across multiple devices
- Following infection prevention and safety protocols to protect yourself and patients.
- Working closely with Patient Transport Coordinators and clinicians who will support and guide you.
What we’re looking for:
- Safe and responsible drivers with a current driver’s licence.
- Confidence with Technology
- A friendly and caring approach, with patience and understanding.
- Reliability and flexibility – start/finish times may vary depending on appointments (generally between 8am–4pm, Monday–Friday).
- Willingness to follow infection control measures, including wearing a surgical mask when required and keeping up to date with vaccinations (current flu).
- We have a very diverse cohort of students, retirees, people who are still working and people who are receiving Centrelink.
