Volunteer Patient Transport Drivers

We are currently looking for compassionate and reliable Volunteer Patient Drivers who have any availability across Monday - Friday to join our team and provide transport to:

• University Hospital Geelong
• Barwon Health North
• Barwon Health McKellar Centre
• Newcombe Community Health Centre

What you’ll be doing:

• Driving patients safely to and from appointments using Barwon Health fleet vehicles.
• Providing a friendly, supportive presence to help patients feel at ease.
• Utilising modern technology to access secure information across multiple devices
• Following infection prevention and safety protocols to protect yourself and patients.
• Working closely with Patient Transport Coordinators and clinicians who will support and guide you.

What we’re looking for:

• Safe and responsible drivers with a current driver’s licence.
• Confidence with Technology
• A friendly and caring approach, with patience and understanding.
• Reliability and flexibility – start/finish times may vary depending on appointments (generally between 8am–4pm, Monday–Friday).
• Willingness to follow infection control measures, including wearing a surgical mask when required and keeping up to date with vaccinations (current flu).
• We have a very diverse cohort of students, retirees, people who are still working and people who are receiving Centrelink.
