Phoenix Park Little Athletics Club Inc - Supported by Cockburn Volunteer Resource Centre
Advertised by Cockburn Volunteer Resource Centre
Experienced Videographer needed to volunteer for specialist sport project with Phoenix Park Little Athletics in Spearwood.
A person is sought who will take charge of videoing equipment to be used to film young athletes in action which is then stored on lap top computer. The raw vision can be used by coaches to improve athlete technique in real time. A further action would be to use specialist biomechanical software on the video to assess technique changes that would improve performance and reduce the chances of future injury.
The Phoenix Park Little Athletics Club (PPLAC) has supported itself during the last 50 years using parent volunteers. The supply of parent volunteers is limited, so the Club is seeking external help. Also, the new Videographer position will be relatively specialized, and an assessment of members did not reveal anyone with the time and expertise required. It is also felt that it might be advantageous for the position to be filled by someone at arms-length from the Club.

- Be part of the improvement process for athletics.
- Join an established, successful athletics organization.
- Work in an area of increasing interest being performance enhancement and injury prevention.
