Meet Bailey! He’s an adventurous young man who loves getting out and about. Whether it’s hitting the movies, grabbing a bite at a local café, or finding something active to do, Bailey is looking for someone to hang out with every other weekend. If you’ve got some free time and want to make a genuine difference (and a new friend), we’d love to chat.
What is Citizen Advocacy? Supports people with intellectual disabilities who have limited social connections by matching them with community volunteers who become their friends, allies, mentors and advocates.
What Does a Volunteer Advocate Do?
- Empowerment: Helping them make their own choices and life decisions.
- Communication: Encouraging them to speak up about their worries or concerns.
- Goal Setting: Assisting them in identifying personal issues and goals.
- Brightening Lives: Offering a meaningful, flexible commitment that benefits both you and the individual.
Who Are We Looking For?
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
- Qualities: Compassionate, reliable, inclusive, and committed to diversity.
- Commitment: Looking for long-term advocacy.
What Support Do Volunteers Receive?
