Volunteer van driver

About the role- Richmond Churches Food Centre is looking for volunteer drivers to join our team to collect food and other donations and bring them to our Food Centre in Richmond
As a driver, you will drive to pick up the food (usually from FoodBank in Altona) using a GoGet van with another driver. You will load the van, drive it back to Richmond and unload in Richmond. We will pair you with another driver so there are always a 2 people on each trip. You can also apply with a friend, and we will partner you together There is quite a bit of lifting and loading involved, none of the boxes are over 15kg in weight but you need a reasonable degree of physical fitness.

Richmond Churches Food Centre is a mission of the Anglican, Catholic and Uniting Church parishes in Richmond. We provide food support and other essentials to those in need in the community. RCFC has been helping those in the Inner Eastern suburbs for over 30 years and currently helps over 160 households per week with a significant food parcel.
Role Requirements
- • Current driver’s license (P plate is acceptable)
- • Friendly and approachable
- • A reasonable level of fitness
- • Availability once or twice a month for about 4 hours (on a Monday or Friday but we have some flexibility)
- • Successfully joining our GoGet account
