In partnership with NILs Providers in South Australia, Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand, are recruiting NILs Volunteers for various locations across metro and regional South Australia to work with our network of organisations who offer No Interest Loans (NILs).
No Interest Loans (NILs) provide people and families access to safe, fair and affordable credit, as an alternative to pay-day lenders and rent to buy schemes. Maximum loan amounts are up to $2,000, for essential goods and services. The product has no fees, no charges and no interest.
Key Volunteer Responsibilities: • Assist with client enquiries, book and conduct face-to-face or phone interviews with clients. • Enter and manage client data in myNILSapp. • Assist clients to gather required documents and complete loan applications • Perform general admin tasks.
Volunteer requirements:
- Ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Good numeric capability
- Excellent spoken and written English;
- Competent in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and use of customer databases, with an ability to pay attention to detail
- Police Check and Working with Children Check will be required
- Ability to commit to volunteering for 4 hours or more per week (anytime during business hours Monday to Friday), preferably for 6 months or longer
