Event Description: 🌱 Make a difference for World Environment Day and plant for climate, wildlife and biodiversity!
🌊 We'll be back at Prince of Wales Bay and plant some beautiful native ground covers, shrubs and trees. We have worked at this site over the last few years, clearing established boxthorn shrubs together with Glenorchy City Council. It's now time for our favourite part: transforming the site with some epic planting efforts and giving back to nature by putting 800 natives over the course of four events in the ground.
If you haven't planted with us before, you are in for a treat - it's so rewarding and fun to plant, and it won't just put a smile on your face, it helps the environment!
Help us rebuild a neglected foreshore along the timtumili minanya/Derwent River, and have a lovely morning out with us!
👖Please ensure you wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, a hat and fully enclosed shoes. Please also bring your own drinking water.
❔If you have any questions about this event, or if you'd like to register a group of volunteers, please message Janine on [email protected].
📖The word 'timtumili minanya' is palawa kani, the language of Tasmanian Aborigines’. Learn more on the SETAC website, or download SETAC's brand-new palawa kani app.
