A Student Mentor role is an extra steady adult who can focus on the students who need time and attention.

EdConnect partnerships support both staff and students. We’re looking for active, young at heart mentors who can connect with students in Years 7 to 12. These young people come from a mix of backgrounds and often just need someone who will listen, walk beside them, and help them feel seen. You don’t need teaching experience. You just need empathy, patience, and a willingness to support teenagers as they move through school and life.

This role takes some pressure off teachers so they can keep the class moving, it helps students feel more settled, which lifts their engagement and brings real community connection into the school.

As a mentor, you’ll help young people: - Grow their confidence - Feel a sense of direction and belonging - Build simple coping skills for school and life
