About the Role

This role is all about showing up for your community in a practical, meaningful way. As a Community Food Support Volunteer, you’ll help make sure good food gets into the hands of people who need it. It’s hands‑on, it’s social, and it genuinely makes a difference. Every box you unpack, every pantry shelf you tidy, every smile you offer helps someone feel supported and seen.

What You’ll Be Doing

Helping sort and organise donated food

Keeping our pantry space welcoming, clean and easy to navigate

Checking dates and rotating stock so everything stays fresh

Unpacking deliveries and donations as they arrive

Lending a hand during food distribution times

Following simple food safety and hygiene practices

Working alongside a friendly team of staff and volunteers

Who This Suits

You don’t need experience — just a willingness to help and a kind, steady presence. If you’re someone who likes to stay organised, enjoys being part of a team, and doesn’t mind a bit of lifting (mostly light items), you’ll fit right in. Most importantly, you bring respect, compassion and a non‑judgmental attitude to everyone who walks through our doors.

What You’ll Get Out of It

The chance to make a real, immediate impact in your local community

A warm, supportive volunteer team

New skills and confidence in community services and food relief

Hours can be signed off if you need them

And that quiet, satisfying feeling of knowing you’ve helped someone’s day feel a little lighter
