Help Dress Our Community with Dignity – Wardrobe Program Volunteer

About the role
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented volunteers to support the Welcome Centre Wardrobe Program, which provides essential clothing and material aid to people seeking asylum. This is a practical, hands-on role supporting clothing collection, sorting, quality control and restocking to ensure our community members have access to safe, appropriate and dignified clothing.
Key activities
• Sort and organise donated clothing and material aid
• Attend the Upparel warehouse to select and quality-check items
• Pack, label and transport clothing to the Coburg Welcome Centre
• Unload boxes and restock clothing racks
• Maintain a tidy, organised wardrobe and storage area
• Discard damaged or unsuitable items responsibly
What we’re looking for
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Reliable and able to commit for at least 6 months
• Respect for confidentiality and boundaries
• Full driver’s licence (essential – Uniting vehicle provided)

Travel/ Location
Coburg office is 5 minute walk from Moreland Station (Upfield line) and local buses; 7 minutes walk from Sydney Rd (19 tram)
