Foodbank Victoria has been helping Victorians since 1930, beginning as the State Relief Committee during the Great Depression. Today, Foodbank continues to support individuals and families facing financial hardship and those affected by disasters such as bushfires, floods and drought.

Celebrating 95 years in 2025, Foodbank Victoria believes every Victorian should have regular access to healthy, culturally appropriate food. They work with partners across the food and grocery sector – from farmers and producers to retailers – to source, rescue and distribute essential food and grocery items that nourish communities.

Position description:

As a Seasonal Warehouse Volunteer, you will support Foodbank Victoria during fruit season by helping prepare fruit for distribution. This includes sorting and boxing fresh fruit ready for orders and supporting the smooth operation of the warehouse during a busy seasonal period. This is a hands-on role suited to people who enjoy practical work and want to contribute to food relief in a meaningful way.

Key tasks:

• Sort and box fruit ready for distribution
• Support packing and rework activities in the warehouse
• Work as part of a friendly and supportive volunteer team
• Follow safety and hygiene procedures

Time and date commitment:

• Morning shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 12:30 pm
• Afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday, 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm
• January to May
• Volunteers can choose to attend one shift or multiple shifts, depending on their availability.
• There is an option for volunteers to remain in the warehouse team or explore other volunteering opportunities at Foodbank Victoria after the seasonal period.

Skills requirements:

• Reliable and willing to commit to a regular shift
• Comfortable with hands-on, physical tasks
• Able to work safely in a warehouse environment
• Community-minded and respectful
