Learning Support & Mentor Volunteers - Primary & Sec Schools - Morn Pen

At EdConnect Australia we train volunteers to provide life changing mentoring and learning support in schools for students who are at risk of not fulfilling their educational potential.
We are seeking volunteers to assist students on location at several primary and secondary schools in the Mornington Peninsula region. No previous experience necessary, however, volunteers must be able to commit a minimum 2 hours per week during school terms.
Volunteers will directly support students in the classroom. This could be listening to students read, supporting small groups or working 1:1 with a student with Maths and/or Literacy. Learning Support volunteers will work under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
The Mentoring position requires someone who could be a role model for a young student. You are needed to provide social and emotional support to a primary or secondary student.
Our volunteers come from many walks of life and age groups. Our volunteers are compassionate, patient and willing to genuinely help students.
Many of our current volunteers find this program personally rewarding as they help students thrive. The impact volunteers can make on a young person’s life goes well beyond their school years. This is an opportunity to not only help, shape, and support young people and schools, it may even enrich a volunteer's life as well.
We’ve recruited and trained thousands of volunteers who have helped many more thousands of young people throughout Australia.
Every year, our volunteers provide life-changing support for more than 12,000 young people. We’re talking about academic, emotional and everyday support that provides both a safety net and a springboard for students who might otherwise struggle.
If you are looking to make a difference in a young person’s life, apply now.
