Cooking Class Assistant

Do you enjoy cooking and connecting with people? We are seeking a Volunteer Cooking Class Assistant to support our Friday cooking program, held during school terms from 9.30am–1.00pm. You’ll work with a small group of participants alongside our facilitator, helping to create a warm, welcoming and fun atmosphere.

As a Volunteer Cooking Class Assistant, you will support the facilitator to ensure each session runs smoothly and participants feel welcomed and supported.

Key duties include:

Setting up the kitchen prior to the class commencing

Offering assistance to participants who may need support with cooking tasks

Helping with pack-up at the end of the session, including loading the dishwasher, mopping floors and general kitchen clean-up

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, being part of a team and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment.

You will also have the opportunity to sit with the participants and enjoy the prepared shared lunch!

Hours for this role are Fridays, 9am - 2pm, during school term time.
