Social Connection Volunteer (Phone/Online)

LifeLinkConnect is an ACNC-registered charity and Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) providing practical, social and community-based support to people experiencing loneliness, social isolation, distress, disability and ageing-related vulnerability.

What you’ll do

Provide friendly check-ins via phone, message or online (15–30 minutes, 1–2 times per week)

Offer warm companionship and conversation (non-clinical)

Respect boundaries and follow our safeguarding guidance

Let us know if you have any concerns so we can follow our escalation/referral steps

Who we’re looking for

Kind, reliable and a good listener

Comfortable communicating by phone/online

Willing to follow privacy/confidentiality and safeguarding practices

Community services experience is welcome, but not required

Time & flexibility Flexible and ongoing. Most volunteers contribute around 1–2 hours per week. You can choose times that suit you.

Training & support Online induction provided (role overview, communication boundaries, safeguarding, privacy/confidentiality, and escalation/referral steps). Ongoing support is available.

Police check & costs A police check may be required for some matches. Where required, LifeLinkConnect can arrange and cover the cost. If you self-match via our website, you may request support by emailing [email protected],au .

How to apply Apply via Seek Volunteer. If your application is accepted, we’ll contact you with the next steps for onboarding. You can then choose how you connect: (1) be matched by LifeLinkConnect, or (2) register on our website as a Supporter and self-match with a Member Seeking Support.

Volunteer certificates can be issued monthly upon request and emailed to your registered email address as a record of your volunteer service.

Centrelink participants are welcome to apply. Where applicable, LifeLinkConnect can complete the organisation section of the SU462 – Verification of Voluntary Work form.
