Volunteer Pastoral Carers (Warrawong, NSW) - #238176

For over 60 years Warrigal has been supporting older people to feel known, loved and connected. Our Volunteer Pastoral Carers play a special role in providing spiritual care to residents from all faiths, beliefs and backgrounds.

This role is about offering a compassionate presence, respectful listening and support for residents who wish to talk about life, faith, meaning or their personal journey. You will work closely with our Lifestyle and Care teams to ensure residents receive holistic care that supports their emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

What You Will Be Doing

• Providing one to one confidential pastoral and spiritual support to residents.

• Listening, offering reassurance and emotional comfort.

• Supporting residents of all faiths, cultures and belief systems.

• Praying with residents or reading spiritual material when requested.

• Referring concerns to staff when appropriate.

What We Are Looking For

• A volunteer who is trained in Pastoral Care.

• Someone who is respectful and inclusive of all faiths and beliefs.

• A calm, compassionate and non judgemental listener.

• Someone who understands confidentiality and boundaries.

• Availability to commit to a regular shift.
