Donate 2 Drive (D2D) is a community-driven organisation dedicated to supporting individuals in fulfilling their learner driving requirement, as mandated by state/territory regulations.

Our mission is to provide a free and accessible service that promotes road safety and empowers learner drivers to become confident and responsible drivers. Through a combination of volunteer-led driving sessions, educational workshops, and community events, we strive to increase accessibility to driving education, promote safe driving practices, and support learners on their journey towards obtaining their probationary license. 

Position description

Donate 2 Drive is seeking Volunteer Driver Mentors to support learner drivers in Werribee through supervised driving sessions.

Volunteers play a key role in helping learners gain practical driving experience in a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.

• Supervise learner drivers during on-road driving sessions
• Provide clear guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback
• Support learners to build confidence and safe driving habits
• Attend one of Donate 2 Drive’s offices and use a Donate 2 Drive vehicle during sessions
• Follow road safety, organisational, and risk management guidelines

Skills requirements

• Strong communication skills
• Patience and a calm approach
• Interest in road safety and community support
• Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
• Previous experience as a driving instructor is helpful but not required

Other requirements

• Aged 23 years or over
• Hold a current full driver licence
• Safe driving history and medically fit to drive
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current National Police Check

Time commitment

• Friday in Werribee 11am to 6pm.
• Driving sessions are scheduled based on volunteer availability and service needs.

• Primary location: Werribee
• Other locations: Donate 2 Drive also operates in Dandenong, Mulgrave, and Lynbrook.
