Who doesn’t love the that new car smell?! We’re looking for volunteers to help clean MND Queensland cars ahead of scheduled Safe and Supportive Movement Technique sessions.

This is a practical volunteering opportunity that makes a tangible impact for our team and the people we support. By helping keep our vehicles clean and ready for use, you’ll be supporting training that helps Queenslanders living with Motor Neurone Disease build skills to assist with mobility and daily support.   What you’ll be doing:

  • Cleaning 1 small car inside and out
  • Helping ensure vehicles are clean, safe, and ready for training use

When:

1 volunteer is needed in the days prior to the following training dates:

12 March | 22 April | 4 June | 15 July | 27 August | 7 October | 19 November

This role must be completed on weekdays, between the hours of 8:30am and 4pm.

You can help with one date or multiple dates — whatever suits your availability. Please let us know your preferences when you apply.

IMPORTANT EXTRA: You will need to come prepared for time in the sun – wear comfortable, closed toed shoes, slip, slop, slap and bring a hat!   About You:

  • Have a reasonable level of physical fitness (comfortable with bending, reaching, and manual tasks)
  • Reliable and happy to do hands-on cleaning
  • Have great attention to detail and take pride in making cars sparkle!
  • Able to work independently or as part of a small team
  • Passionate about helping others and making a positive impact

By volunteering your time, you’ll be helping MND Queensland deliver vital education to our clients and their families to support them to live safely and comfortably with Motor Neurone Disease.

Please Note: Our volunteer personal accident insurance requires volunteers to be at least 12 years old. Children aged 14 and under must volunteer with a parent. Insurance coverage is provided up to age 75. Volunteers aged over 75 may still participate but should be aware that insurance coverage is limited.
