Friendly Volunteer Visitor for a lonely aged care resident - Mornington

Can you spare an hour per week to visit an older person and make a new friend?

We have a lovely resident of an aged care home in Mornington who would benefit from your companionship and friendship!

One hour per week or every fortnight to engage in 1:1 conversation, go for a short walk, or sit outside for some fresh air.

If you are looking for a volunteer role that makes a positive difference to another person, brings mutual joy, allows you to bring your pet, and is flexible - this is a role for you.

MS Plus is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS). Volunteer visitors share stories, go for a stroll or have a cuppa, listen to music or play a board game. Our volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship.

You need to be warm, caring, reliable, sociable and be willing to commit to weekly connections/visits or at least fortnightly connections/visits for a minimum of 6 months/ongoing.
