Parent Support Volunteer - Family Services (Bendigo & Macedon Ranges)

Ranjeet has just had her first baby, her husband works long hours, and she has no local support. Might you be able to help?
📍 Greater Bendigo & Macedon Ranges, VIC ⏱ 1–2 hours per week | In‑home visits | Full training provided
Our Home-Start program is looking for caring, community‑minded Parent Support Volunteers to walk alongside new and early‑years parents. If you have lived experience as a parent or caregiver and want to make a genuine impact, this role offers a meaningful way to give back close to home.
🌼 What You’ll Do
As a Parent Support Volunteer, you’ll visit families in their homes and offer friendly, practical support that builds confidence and connection.
Your time may include:
- Offering encouragement and a compassionate listening ear
- Sharing parenting wisdom from your own lived experience
- Helping families navigate day‑to‑day challenges
- Providing weekly in‑person support (1-2 hours)
Your presence can ease isolation, strengthen wellbeing, and create brighter beginnings for children and their caregivers.
💛 What You Bring
- Experience as a parent or caregiver
- Warm communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Working with Children Check
- National Criminal History Check (arranged and paid for by us)
- Willingness to complete volunteer screening and training
Bonus (not essential)
- Knowledge of early childhood development
- First Aid Certificate
- Driver’s Licence
