Jifunze International is an Australian registered NFP organisation working in Kenya. We provide learning opportunities to improve community health and safety, education and career opportunities, and skills to enable project participants to share knowledge with peers. The accountant will be the Jifunze Internationals bank account and accounting systems Manager. They will be required to provide a monthly finance report to the board of Directors and to write the end of year Financial Report.
The volunteer taking up this position will require experience and qualifications to manage finance accounting for a small charity. Experience with XERO is highly desirable Their values need to align with the values of Jifunze International that is Justice, Integrity, Fairness, understanding and support of our policy that 100% of funding goes to projects, Zealous and with a focus on empowering youth to be the best they can be.
Tasks Management of the company bank account and accounting system - XERO Reporting to the board of Directors on the income and expenditure each month Writing the end of year Finance Report and presenting it to the Board of Directors. Experience The experience the volunteer will gain is in working with an online team across Australia and in Kenya. They will work closely with the CEO in Kenya and learn about the many challenges the team in Kenya face on a daily basis as well as the successful outcomes and opportunities given to our beneficiaries. They will also gain experience in reporting to the Jifunze International board and giving financial advice as required. The experience gained will be a very positive contribution to their CV.
