Aspendale Gardens Community Service is seeking enthusiastic and committed volunteer board members to help guide the governance and future direction of our vibrant, not-for-profit community centre.
About Us Our centre is at the heart of Aspendale Gardens, offering a wide range of programs and services that bring people together and strengthen community connections. We operate a three-year-old and four-year-old kindergarten, and provide diverse activities including basketball, karate, and other programs for children and adults, as well as a variety of community services for all ages.
The Role As a Volunteer Board Member, you will: • Contribute to the governance, strategic planning, and oversight of the organisation. • Support the effective operation and sustainability of our centre. • Share your skills, experience, and ideas to help us grow and improve our services. • Work collaboratively with a dedicated and friendly board committed to making a positive impact. This is an opportunity to give back to your community while developing your governance experience and making valuable connections.
Who We’re Looking For We welcome expressions of interest from people of all backgrounds and experiences who: • Have a genuine interest in community development and engagement. • Can commit to attending regular board meetings (approximately once per month) and a subcommittee meeting (either OH&S, Finance or Policy- approximately once per month). • Bring skills in areas such as finance, governance, community services, education, marketing, or fundraising (desirable but not essential). • Enjoy working in a team and value collaboration.
