Play a vital behind-the-scenes role in bringing our fundraising events to life as an Event Support Volunteer. We’re looking for someone physically capable and able to work independently to assist with packing and unpacking our event van before and after major fundraising events that support Queenslanders living with Motor Neurone Disease.

Our major fundraising events, including our annual Walk to Defeat MND, bring together the community to honour, remember, and support those affected by Motor Neurone Disease. As a valued MND volunteer you will work behind the scenes to ensure our major fundraising events are a huge success.   About the Role As an Event Support Volunteer, you will play an important behind-the-scenes role in helping our fundraising and awareness events run smoothly. This role involves assisting with the packing and unpacking of the event van prior to and following major fundraising events, including the Walk to Defeat MND. You will help ensure all equipment and materials are safely packed and returned to storage. Your contribution directly supports events that raise vital funds and awareness for people living with MND.   When: Friday 17th July and Monday 20th July             Friday 7th August and Monday 10th August Friday 9th October and Monday 12th October What Time: During business hours, between 8am and 4pm Where: 1/89 Factory Road, Oxley QLD 4075

IMPORTANT EXTRA: You will need to wear closed in shoes   As the Event Support Volunteer, you will be: ·       Assist with packing event materials into the van prior to events ·       Load and unload items such as marquees, tables, signage, merchandise and promotional materials ·       Help check equipment against packing lists ·       Assist with unpacking and returning items to storage following events ·       Support general warehouse organisation where required ·       Follow safe manual handling practices About you:

  • Physically fit and energetic
  • Reliable and willing to lend a hand wherever needed
  • Passion for helping others and making a difference
  • Current holder of, or willing to apply for, NDIS WSC (Yellow card)

By volunteering your time you’ll be helping MND Queensland with their efforts to raise vital funds and awareness to support people living with MND and their families.

Please note: Insurance coverage is provided up to age 75. Volunteers aged over 75 may still participate but should be aware that insurance coverage is limited.
